INSERM U136 (Biology of Cancer and Infection (BCI)) is a research laboratory sponsored by INSERM, University Grenoble-Alpes (UGA) and CEA. It hosts three teams: PBRC (Bacterial pathogenesis and cellular responses), IMAC (Invasion mechanisms in angiogenesis and cancer) and BAL (BMP in angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis). The team BAL, headed by Sabine Bailly, focuses on BMP signalling, and in particular the BMP9/BMP10/ALK1 pathway in angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, in the context of vascular pathologies and cancer. Its aim is to understand the molecular mechanisms behind vascular disorders related to BMP signalling (HHT and PAH) in order to propose new molecular therapies.
